She joined the all women-of-color vinyl collective, Chulita Vinyl Club, in 2014 and since then has cultivated a musical style and vibe of her own. She began collecting vinyl records in her early 20's to connect with her upbringing in East Los Angeles, primarily focusing on lowrider oldies and soul. Renee was selected as a 2021-2022 Cultural Ambassador for the US by American Music Abroad.ĭJ Que Madre is a Los Angeles based DJ and mother. She has composed original music for films by Disney & WeTransfer. Renee has been featured on Billboard, NPR’s Latino USA, and Spain’s El Pais, and more. She has performed in Europe, North America and South America, appearing on renowned stages such as Lincoln Center, Guggenheim Museum, and Mexico’s El Cantoral. Renee Goust was awarded the NYFA's Women’s Fund Grant in 2020, with which she produced “Resister”- a work of 8 original songs by, for, and about women and non-binary folks. Her songs “La cumbia feminazi” and “Querida muerte (No nos maten)” are being used as agents for social change in feminist marches throughout Latin America and Spain. Neo-folk artist Renee Goust, who grew up on the US/Mexico border, writes bilingual songs about gender equality, queer experiences, immigration, and other social justice issues to champion communities that have been under-represented in Latin folk. Francisca Valenzuela is currently a Sony Music artist. Her 2020 album “La Fortaleza” received great reviews among fans and critics and she builds upon that momentum with the release of her latest LP “Vida Tan Bonita.” Francisca is also founder and director of the festival and feminist, inclusive and interdisciplinary platform Ruidosa, which seeks social and cultural transformation through the empowerment of women in the creative industries. Her discography has been produced independently through her own record label Frantastic Records: "Muérdete la lengua" (2007), "Buen Soldado" (2011) -both platinum albums- and “Tajo Abierto” (2014). The promising start of her career in 2007 with the hit single "Dulce", was only surpassed by a constant recognition in the music world where she has two platinum albums, a Latin Grammy nomination and her collaborations with artists such as U2, Miguel Bosé, Pablo Alborán, Mon Laferte, Natalia Lafourcade and Pedro Aznar, among others.
